Tribal Fusion Bellydance is an evolving American dance form that has taken flight nationwide over the last few years. As an offshoot of American Tribal Style Bellydance (or ATS, developed by Fat Chance Bellydance), it is permeated with the stylizations of Flamenco, Indian, and Oriental Dance forms, a smattering of folkloric, and a dash of Hip Hop. Like more traditional styles of Bellydance, it is low impact, suitable for all ages, genders, and body types, and, given half a chance, a lot of fun! Bellydance has been very popular in the media lately, popularized as the new craze miracle weight loss program - and while bellydance can help a person to trim a figure, it still requires weekly, if not daily practice, along with adjustments in diet to work. M'chelle's workshops and classes advocate good technique and posture, encouraging students to laugh, be open with themselves and their classmates, while rediscovering their bodies in unexpected dimensions and exploring movement from a different perspective. M'chelle's goal in teaching to to help her students find their inner voice while correcting technique for clean, beautiful dancing from the heart. Would you like to hire M'chelle but don't have travel and accommodations in your budget? You may be in luck... M'chelle's day job frequently requires her to travel across the country, and it may be possible to schedule a workshop or show while she's in your area already. |
